Gatlinburg SkyBridge Set To Be Longest Pedestrian Bridge
Are you afraid of heights? If so, then this experience may not be the one for you. But if you do like a little thrill and being suspended high in the air, then the state of Tennessee has a little adventure made just for you.
The SkyBridge in Gatlinburg, Tennessee is the longest pedestrian suspension bridge, stretching 680 feet across a valley in the Great Smoky Mountains. The bridge opens to the public on May 17.
The bridge has glass-floor panels that allow brave walkers to see the ground that is 140 feet beneath them. The bridge is part of Skylift Park, which takes passengers up five hundred vertical feet from Gatlinburg to the top of Crockett Mountain.

Once the bridge opens, visitors will be able to take the lift to the top to walk across the bridge and enjoy the panoramic views of downtown Gatlinburg and the surrounding Great Smoky Mountain National Park.
The Gatlinburg SkyLift, which has been offering beautiful views of the surrounding area since 1954, has been running but guests have not been allowed to get off and enjoy the landscape since the November 2016 fires.
So if you’re in the area on opening day or already planning a trip to Tennessee, you should definitely cross off the SkyBridge from your bucket list. Guests can purchase tickets at the Gatlinburg SkyLift Park office in Downtown Gatlinburg.
